Microsoft 365, run properly
Most businesses run Microsoft 365 at about forty per cent of what they pay for, with permissions nobody has reviewed since they migrated. We administer the platform properly: identity, devices, data, and the security controls that keep it safe.
WHAT WE DO
What running it properly actually involves
Identity and access
Entra ID configured deliberately: who can sign in, from where, on what device, and what happens when something looks wrong. Administrator roles are separated and kept to a minimum.
Joiners and leavers
New starters provisioned properly; leavers removed the same day; licences reclaimed so you stop paying for people who have left.
Devices
Intune enrolment and compliance policies ensure a machine meets standards before it can access company data. Windows and macOS.
Backup
Your Microsoft 365 data is backed up independently of Microsoft, with restores tested. Managed by us in an account held in your name.
SharePoint, Teams and files
A structure people can navigate, permissions that reflect who should actually see what, and external sharing that is a decision rather than an accident.
Licensing
The right plan for what you actually need, which is usually not the one you are on.
HOW WE STRUCTURE IT
A team per project, not one big drive
The instinct carried over from a file server is a single shared drive with folder permissions layered on top. This approach does not work in the cloud. Permissions drift, nobody can explain who can see what, and eventually everyone gets access to everything because that is the only way to make it work.
We build the other way: a team per project or per client, with membership that is obvious and ends when the work does. It is easier to explain, easier to audit, and it is the difference between Copilot being useful and Copilot being a liability.
HOW WE’RE PAID
We don't sell you your Microsoft licences
Most IT providers buy your Microsoft 365 subscriptions and bill you with a margin added. It is a normal way to run an IT company, and it creates an awkward problem: the people advising you on which licence you need are the people who earn more if the answer is a bigger one.
We don't do it. You buy your Microsoft 365 subscriptions directly from Microsoft, in your own name. We tell you what to buy, manage everything inside it, and earn exactly the same whether you are on Business Standard, Business Premium, or somewhere in between.
So when we say you don't need Copilot for all forty people yet, there is nothing behind it.
It has a second consequence worth knowing. Because your tenant and subscriptions are yours, leaving us is straightforward: there is no licensing arrangement to untangle and nothing to migrate. We would rather you stayed because the work is good.
AI READINESS
Before you turn on Copilot, do you know who can see what?
This is the first question we ask, and almost no business can answer it.
Years of untidy SharePoint and Teams permissions were survivable when finding a document required knowing where it lived. They stop being survivable the moment you give everybody a chat interface that will cheerfully surface anything they technically have access to. The salary spreadsheet somebody shared to "everyone in the organisation" in 2021 was effectively invisible. It is not invisible to Copilot.
A second problem lies beneath it. Your staff are already using AI. Free note-takers that join meetings, chat tools they have signed in to with work accounts, browser extensions with access to whatever is on screen. Some of it is genuinely useful. Some of it is quietly sending confidential material to a third party with no agreement in place and no oversight.
WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT
Review what your staff have already connected to your Microsoft 365, and what it can reach
Find and fix the oversharing - the files, sites and links that are open far wider than anyone intended
Set up the controls first, so that enabling Copilot is a decision rather than a risk
Give you an AI usage policy, adapted from our template, that people can actually follow
Run a controlled pilot with a small group before you buy licences for everyone
You can have all of this assessed as part of your free benchmark. If it turns up work that needs doing, we will quote it separately, and it is usually a short project rather than an ongoing cost.
ALSO SUPPORTED
Google Workspace
We support Google Workspace for identity, devices, sharing, backup, and the same security standard, adapted to the platform. Several of our clients run it and are perfectly happy.
We will also tell you honestly when Microsoft 365 would suit you better, and we have handled that migration for clients more than once, moving email, files, calendars, and permissions without losing anything or causing a week of disruption.
